MANAGEMENT OF TITAN PARTNERSHIP EPA
Titan Partnership’s EPA provision is managed by the Director of ITT

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
All partnership roles and responsibilities relate directly to the Teachers’ Standards (2012)

Commitment of the Employing School:
- Facilitate the end point assessment
- Conduct a joint observation with the EPA
- Support assessor during the professional discussion
- Provide an Induction Tutor to support the apprentice
- Provide opportunities for apprentices to continue to meet all of the Teachers’ Standards
- Provide the apprentice with every opportunity to achieve high level outcomes

Commitment of Titan Partnership ITT:
- The Director of ITT is responsible for making contact with the ITT Provider and the
Employing School to set up the EPA
- Devise assessment material
- Administer the end point assessment
- Assess Lesson Observation
- Assess Professional Discussion
- Responsible for ensuring that panel members are fully prepared for their contribution to assessing apprentices
- Determine the final apprenticeship grade achieved (Outstanding, Pass, Inadequate)
- Recommend successful apprentices for their apprenticeship certificate
-Maintain robust internal quality assurance processes
- 10% of each cohort will be moderated by an external moderator
- Ensure assessors are occupationally competent
- Write to apprentice to confirm the outcome of the EPA

Commitment of ITT Provider:
- A representative will participate in the professional discussion part of the EPA process.
- Pay £1,200 (plus travel expenses) for the EPA
- The cost of a re-sit (should one be required) will be £600* (£360 for lesson observation and
feedback, £240 for professional discussion).
- A charge of £300* will be payable for apprentices who pass through the gateway but do not
complete the EPA
- An invoice will be sent once the date for the End Point Assessment has been agreed
*20% discount for Titan members

 

External moderator
Our external moderator ensures that secure decisions are made and acts as a critical friend. During the
course of the EPA process the external moderator will visit 10% of the cohort. The sample of apprentices
selected is chosen as a representative cross-section. The external moderator will sit in on the lesson
observation, feedback and professional discussion in order to moderate decisions and agree grades
awarded.

Internal moderation
Our internal moderation ensures that secure and consistent decisions are made. During the course of the
EPA process an internal moderator (the ITT Manager or a Subject Leader) will visit 10% of the cohort. The
sample of apprentices selected is chosen as a representative cross-section. The internal moderator will sit
in on the lesson observation, feedback and professional discussion in order to moderate decisions and
agree grades awarded.
